In the run up to Christmas, it is nice to take some time out and reminisce. One of my scarves is a favourite for this time of year: Les Plaisirs du Froid.
It depicts a scene from an era long past, where people would go for a ride in a sleigh or ice skate on a frozen lake.
This scarf has it all for me: nostalgia for Christmas, a personal memory (my Dad used to ice skate on lakes in his youth although it would have been a million miles removed from the romantic image portrayed on the scarf), a wide border in raspberry red, gorgeous corner detail (golden tassels), the central section ties to display a sprinkling of sky blue and the scarf can be displayed as a winter scene and shared with the little gardener.
Since the light is poor today, the picture is not very crisp. Hopefully a couple of close ups taken a while ago will make up for it.
Stunning! Makes me feel all warm and cozy inside.
