Trésors Retrouvés

It is Annie Faivre week on the scarf board and I had a quick look through the drawers and boxes only to discover that I have a few of her designs, including this season's Trésors Retrouvés.

This design is based on Afghan artefacts, hidden at the start of the war, now rediscovered and displayed in the National Museum of Kabul.

Wearing the marron glacé/vanille/violine colourway.

I will come back to this post over the next few days with some more knotting pictures as the above simple wrap knot does not do the scarf justice.

For now a few detail pictures.

The scarf does not feature many colours and maybe this lmakes this scarf a quiet and elegant addition. The contrast hem is a lovely feature and the corners are simple with just enough interest to not distract from the stunning centre.

The design has quirky elements, such as this figure riding a fish. Turquoise and purple are used sparingly but to best effect, depicting gems

French speakers may find this youtube post useful. There is also an exhibition catalogue available on Amazon.

  2. My hubby gave Tresors Retrouves in green for my birthday and was wondering what the story behind the design of this scarf was. Thanks for the post and clarification! I plan to wear mine tomorrow. Also, have you checked out MaiTai's Picture Book (blog)?
