The sweet smell of success

I am reconciled with the weather, the recent days have been full of sun but a light breeze has made work very pleasurable.

Spring sown sweet peas are now putting on a superb display and as there is no one at the school to admire them, a big bunch had to come home with me. After all, the more you cut them, the better they flower.

  1. We are enjoying exactly this: an abundance of delicious sweetpeas which DH grew from seed purchased at the pound shop.
Our designer sweetpeas last year were a howling failure, and a savvy friend said poundshop seed are the best .... tried and tested .
I too love to pick them and after years of wanting all one colour I'm embracing multicolour and loving it . Love the dark dark red which pick up on the dark red penstemon and Arabian night Dahlia.
BTW that red made me think of Hermes ! In fact your Axis Mundi sprung to mind !

  2. Yes, the sweet peas are fabulous again this year, so glad you are enjoying them, too. The scent is unbelievable. I have to check out poundshop or I may try to save some seed myself and see whether I can get some crazy colour combinations.

Axis Mundi is nicely tucked away for the time being, the constant menace of rain is just too much of a risk.
