Climbing roses and clematis

I'm a sucker for some nice climbers; it probably stems from my days of gardening a tiny plot and maximising the space, so if I can get two climbers in the space of one and extend my flowering period and/or colour choices than that's a good thing.

In an ideal world I aim to have both plants flowering at the same time or at least have some overlap. This year I am in luck: the rose and clematis are in flower at the same time.

Clematis 'Arctic Queen' (group 2) and climbing rose 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles' (Ausmove). When fully open, the flowers are nearly of the same size.
