Still raining and I am getting to spend time at home when I would normally be out weeding and sowing.
Time for something a bit different: music. I had been stressing over my beloved Bose wave radio/cd player for the best part of a year. The CD side had stopped functioning properly and had become very hit and miss as to when it deemed to oblige my hankering for music.
I am such a numpty when it comes to electronics and although I got as far as looking up the number for customer support and servicing. I made enquiries and it started to look expensive. What to do? Get another piece of kit? Sell it off for spares?
Ebay to the rescue! A lovely chap sells the laser optical assembly complete with fitting instructions for under £30. A bargain if there ever was one in my book. It arrived yesterday and DH and I got to work; well he did all the fiddly bits and I read out the instructions. Seriously, I would not have got further than unscrewing the outer case, and suprisingly for a man with hands the size of a shovel he is incredibly good with delicate tasks. You see, his background in aircraft maintenance is useful even if helicopters no longer feature in his daily life.
Now I get to enjoy Mahlers Symphonies whilst planning a new border and it is rather blissful.
