I am a gardener and garden designer working in Central England since 2008. I specialise in the sympathetic renovation and restoration of gardens. Follow me as I chart progress in various gardens. One of my hobbies includes Hermès silks, so expect my blog to be interspersed with the odd scarf or three. For me wearing a piece of silk art is the perfect antidote to a day's hard graft.

Can I wear taupe with grey?
Rhetoric question of course but poignant nonetheless.
With DH not working yesterday and no chance of any productive outdoor work on my part, DH and I decided to go to the pictures in the morning. Spur of the moment, you understand, "Salon Fishing in the Yemen" if you must know.
Most pressing question: what to wear? Silk was out of the question but cold and damp lends itself to a shawl. I was in varying shades of grey this morning but the shawl that shrieked loudest to me was Tours de Cles. Mine is the beige/taupe/red colourway and I had never dared to pair this with grey.
It works (I think) and the red cheered me up no end. One to be repeated.

Wow, beautiful Bienchen! And of course, yes for grey with taupe! I was so impressed by the dynamic movements of Les cles GM...
ReplyDeleteThank you, high praise indeed coming from you.
DeleteGrey and taupe are fabulous together , especially with a shot of cherry red .
ReplyDeleteI love , adore and need this shawl ! It's perfection !
I always use my vintage GM Brins d'Or in red when visiting the cinema [ which is often]
It often gets cold sitting there, and I love cuddling up in it.
Glad you love this design, too and I think the red c/w is the best. I have managed to get a small snag in it but it has not dimished my love for this shawl, rather I wear it more often now. If I am careless again it'll have to go to shawl spa.
